What does it take to be a mentor?

• Demonstrated leadership and patience

• A passion for sharing expertise and lessons learned

• Good problem-solver/critical thinker

• At least 5 years of professional experience

• Computer proficiency; comfort with using online communication tools

• Able to commit a minimum of 2 hours/month for at least 6 months

Not ready to be a one-on-one mentor? Sign up as a Subject Matter Advisor or a Discussion Forum Subject Matter Expert to answer specific questions within your area(s) of expertise. Answer as many questions as you choose.

Business Mentoring

You have an opportunity to use your professional skills to help an entrepreneur get to the next level. Whether you have 2 hours a month or 2 hours a week to volunteer, we would love to put your expertise to work. Don't worry if you have never done business mentoring before; we'll provide training and tools to support you.


Time Commitment: varies

Board Service

Board members work together and with the CEO to establish a vision and set the strategic priorities for the organization. Board members are required to attend 4 board meetings annually plus the annual fundraising event. 

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per month (avg.)

Next Level Conference Committee

Work with an energetic group of people who love a good event! The committee will break into smaller groups to work on specific aspects of the Next Level Conference:

  • Conference programming and content

  • Marketing and outreach

  • Sponsorships

  • Competition Judging

  • Best Chef Food Expo

  • Event day logistics/event planning
